What Is A Lawnie?

A Lawnie is someone who chooses to sit outside at a concert,play or some other form of the arts. You sit outside in all weathers, beneath umbrellas, shrouded in rain gear and all for the price and freedom of the lawn. The thought came to me, my mother and sister as we carries cooler, chairs , ,blankets and books to watch the NYC ballet at SPAC ( Saratoga Center for Performance Arts). This was during a week of thunder and lightening storms. Yes, we had a chance to sit outside but the Lawnie in us insisted upon our rightful place. I love the freedom of being able to snicker at the obvious stuffing of the tights, bizarre choreography all while being able to eat cookies, knit or read. Classical concerts are wonderful when you can lie down on the crazy quilt and watch the stars all while the sounds of Bach,Elgar, Beethoven or Williams play.
